5 year old 12.2 hand small pony welsh x mare. If you have a kid who wants to jump, trail ride, go bareback, chase cows, ride down the road, play games and just plain HAVE FUN—Apple Cider is your girl!  For the past two months, our 8 year old rider, has basically claimed her as her own. All the little girls catch her, tack her up themselves, ride her all over the farm and give their friends pony rides. Previously, Apple Cider was a working ranch pony. Since then, she’s trail ridden, chased cows, jumped, gone bareback, ridden down the road, tackled obstacles, roped a sled & visited the gas station—and YES, she’s even been inside our house.  She is easy to catch, tie and bathe, an easy keeper. 100% sound. Apple Cider is FUN, forward and athletic. She is not a deadhead. She has a 10+ jump, a great canter and all the raw ingredients to make a darling little hunter pony with more formal training. Send her to a ranch kid and I think she’d be a DREAM. Want to game? I think she could absolutely kill it at barrels, poles and playdays too.  This is a pony with so many directions to go. Jump her. Chase cows. Trail ride. Ride bareback. Play games. If you want a kind, athletic, versatile pony that a capable kid can have an absolute blast with, take a serious look at Apple Cider. She has the best uphill and balanced canter, and the even better part about her? You can point her to a jump and she will jump anything and keep the same rhythm. She never changes her rhythm before or after the jump.
