Jinx 4-year-old Grade Sorrel Mare around 14.1hh Jinx is at the perfect stage to continue her journey with her next rider. This 4-year-old grade mare has a solid foundation and a kind, sensible disposition that's hard to find. She's been used in 4-H, enjoys trail riding, and confidently tackled the hills and water crossings in Medora this spring. Jinx has also been started on gaming patterns and carries a "more whoa than go" attitude, making her a level-headed partner rather than a hot, rushed ride. Nothing seems to bother this mare much. She's accustomed to dogs, kids, machinery, highway traffic, and everyday commotion. Her size is another huge advantage: she's not too tall for youth riders, yet stout and sturdy enough to comfortably carry adults. If you're looking for a horse that's easy to saddle and mount without needing a step stool, Jinx fits the bill. Built like a little tank, she's athletic, willing, and easy to keep. In fact, she gains weight looking at grass! She's been started on neck reining, responds to leg pressure, moves both her front and hindquarters, and understands the basics well. As a young horse, she'll continue to benefit from consistency and continued training. Jinx does require a patient farrier, as she can be a bit fidgety during trims, but she's improving with regular handling and a calm approach. For full transparency, I tie a ribbon in her tail on larger group rides because she doesn't enjoy being crowded. In extreme situations, she has kicked when feeling pressured, so prospective owners should be aware and manage her accordingly. With her sensible nature, sturdy build, and willing attitude, Jinx has the foundation to excel as a family horse, trail partner, youth mount, or husband horse. She's ready to continue her education in whatever direction her next owner chooses. Jinx is a young mare with a bright future and all the ingredients to become someone's favorite riding partner.
