OCALA HORSE SALE PREFERRED SESSION INFORMATIONAL LOT ***Please do not bid on this lot*** The following information applies to Hip Numbers 50-59 These are "Preferred Session" Horses. Regular Session will resume with Hip 60 Wondering what the Preferred Session is all about? Keep reading! While all of our catalog horses are expected to be accurately represented allowing our buyers to bid with confidence, the optional Preferred Session allows consignors the chance to go over and above for their very best horses and put them in the spotlight! Preferred Session horses were selected for quality, soundness, and ability that goes above and beyond. This is reserved for only the elite, bombproof, legitimate, and safest of horses and horses who fail to meet ALL criteria are not accepted. It is even possible for a horse to initially be accepted and later removed from this session by sale management if criteria are not all met throughout the sale process (i.e. - horse did not meet Preferred Session expectations during the mandatory demonstration) Preferred Session horses may be registered or grade - quality of the horse takes precedence. They will have professional quality photos & video. Pre-Purchase Exam Requirement: All horses consigned to Preferred Session are required to have a pre-purchase exam done by a licensed veterinarian in order to sell. Pre-purchase exam should include but is not limited to; front foot x-rays of the navicular (left & right fore foot DP, left & right fore foot lateral) and any other x-rays deemed necessary by the veterinarian. A flexion test and eye exam must be included in the PPE. Consignors may choose to include hock & stifle x-rays, but this is not required. These x-rays & PPE findings will be added to the horse's online listing here on the bidding site. Depending on how the x-rays are submitted by the veterinarian, they may show as a link or as individual images on the horse's listing. If they are in a link, it will be clearly marked so you can just click and view. Often PPE findings are submitted as a pdf document. If that is the case, you'll be able to locate it under the "Documents" tab of the horse. (The majority of these items will not appear in the online catalog until SALE WEEK as the consignors generally have this done rather close to sale day) If buyers want more than the required pre-purchase exam, they are to get it done before the sale at their expense. The consignor agrees to make their consignment available for additional exams if a potential buyer inquires. Special Demonstration for Preferred Session Horses Preferred Session horses may certainly take part in open demonstrations and many do. However, they are REQUIRED to participate in the demonstration held specifically for them on FRIDAY. This preview is webcast live on the Ocala Horse Sale Facebook page. During this preview, the following is expected: Consignors will be required to catch their animal, pickup all 4 feet with ease, bridle and saddle their horse. Consignors will be expected to tighten their cinch, mount and ride off immediately at the lope without any issue. **Horses are not to be ridden prior to the demonstration. They are to leave their stalls and come to the arena for the demonstration** Often consignors will also add a little of their own flair here to showcase what makes their horse stand out! Maybe they have a great flying lead change, have a special trick they perform, lope around bridleless, etc. In other words, as long as the requirements are met, a little "freestyle" is certainly welcome too! Major abrasions, cuts, or sores may be grounds for disqualification from the Preferred Session, unless it is likely to heal normally without veterinarian treatment and cause no long-term threat.
